From guard to murder
One of the main characters is played by the Ostrava actor Robert Mikluš, known from the series Strážmistr Topinka and Doktor Martin, which were filmed in the Beskydy Mountains. – more info.

The plot of the series precedes the Cases of the 1st Department and Robert Mikluš plays the younger Josef Korejs (originally performed by Miroslav Hanuš).
“Josef did not have a position at a young age, so he has to try harder, but of course he can be seen as a careerist and solo carp,” said Robert Mikluš about his version of the character.

The first of the six episodes will be presented by ČT tonight, on Sunday, January 9, in prime time – ten minutes after eight o’clock. He will go back in time to 1993, when a young investigator, Tomáš Kozák, joined by Kryštof Bartoš (originally played by Ondřej Vetchý), joined the Prague muzzle, to help clarify post-revolutionary cases.

“It was a war between police and do-it-yourselfers. These cases have been discussed many times in the press, radio and television. We put them together and wrote the story as it happened from the point of view of the police themselves, “said screenwriter Josef Mareš. He worked as an investigator from 1993 to 2001 and whose job was to solve violent crimes. He wrote the screenplays for Cases of the 1st Department.

Real cases and people
According to the creators of the series, the 1990s brought a sharp increase in crime. In six episodes, the series will introduce the audience to the events and people who are connected with these years – whether it is the figure of businessman Ivan Jonák and his Discoland or the underworld leader František Mrázek.
Mareš was investigating the murder of Jonák’s wife, the so-called Eagle murders or those associated with light fuel oil shops.
New crime series from Ostrava Shadows in the Mist: How did the first part like it?
“Most of what is happening in the series are iconic cases from the 90’s, which we all experienced and watched daily,” says Ondřej Sokol, a native of Šumperk who plays Ensign Tůma in the series.
A younger version of operative Václav Plíšek, whose audiences know from the first series performed by Bolek Polívka, was also portrayed by Martin Finger, a native of Šumperk.
