The NFT company that Troy Baker markets took audio clips from another service

“You can either hate or create” – Troy Baker.

Last week, the popular voice actor Troy Baker – Joel announced in The Last of Us, Booker DeWitt i Bioshock Infinite m.fl. – he stands behind the NFT company Voiceverse NFT, which plans to sell the rights to various voices, which buyers can then use together with an AI solution to have material read aloud with the voice in question.

He ended the proclamation by saying that “one can either create or hate”, and of course the whole thing received a rather chilly reception. He later asked excuse, but now the venture has received even more bad publicity. It has been revealed that Voiceverse NFT has taken one of its voices from a free AI voice service called 15.ai.

The creator behind 15.ai showed one log file which includes just the text that Voiceverse NFT uses in a video they have now taken down, with the only difference that they have made the voice brighter to avoid sounding exactly like the original.

Voiceverse NFT has admitted that they took the vote without referring to the author and blames their marketing department, but the 15.ai creator did not seem willing to accept their apology.
