The British company Morgan continues its tradition and presents a completely new Super 3 tricycle, equipped with an atmospheric three-cylinder Ford combined with a Mazda MX-5 transmission.

Morgan Motor Company, which has been offering stylish tricycles since 1909, introduces the all-new Super 3 model.
It was inspired by the era of jet engines, specifically the 1950s in the USA, when it flirted with new transport options. The design of the car was created on clean paper and visually differs from the brand’s current offer. Every detail should have its technical significance.

This applies, for example, to the black lacquered cast aluminum frame in the bow, in which the engine and front suspension are mounted. The chassis then attracts attention, for example, with long steering rods or brakes moved as far away from the car as possible, which should have a positive effect on comfort and, above all, on maneuverability.
However, the bow retains the clear shapes typical of the Morgan brand. This applies, for example, to a pair of headlights or painted fenders. There are 20 “Morgan wheels hidden in them, the design of which is inspired by salt flat races in the 1950s. The wheels are fitted with special Avon tires, which have a retro design and pattern, but it is a modern tire.
The basis of the body is an aluminum modular monocoque, which should offer high rigidity, compact construction and low weight. The body simply has elegant shapes that match the design inspiration of the fifties. At the front, there are decent holes that suck air into the engine. There are special locks on the sides, which are part of a unique support system.

This allows you to attach, for example, a luggage carrier or specially developed backpacks, bags and suitcases to the side of the car. The system will also allow you to attach a GoPro camera holder, a mobile phone holder or offer the first time to have a drink holder in Morgan. This is the most configurable Morgan in history. Another robust holder is then at the rear of the car.
The open cabin offers a simple but modern concept. The seats can be upholstered in saddle leather, which resists water and UV radiation well, USB connectors are not missing and for the first time ever, the Morgan car is equipped with digital alarm clocks lined with metal frames. In addition, the entire interior is IP certified, so it can withstand rain on the road.

The fact that there is an absolute minimum of plastics in the cabin can be interesting. The carmaker relied mainly on premium materials that will radiate quality. Of interest is the small display of special navigation behind the wheel, which should be an ideal compromise between classic navigation and the map.
Under the hood of the new Morgan Super 3 is an atmospheric 1.5-liter three-cylinder Ford Dragon, which will offer a maximum output of 87 kW at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 150 Nm. The engine is mated to a Mazda five-speed manual transmission, allegedly a slightly redesigned Mx-5 transmission, through which power travels to the rear wheel.

The small tricycle, which measures 3581 mm in length, 1840 mm in width, 1132 mm in height and dry weighs 635 kilograms, moves the three-cylinder from 0 to 100 km / h in about 7 seconds and the maximum speed should be around 209 km / h .
The price of the new tricycle, including the tax, should start in the UK from £ 41,995, ie approximately CZK 1,260,000. But customers still have a huge range of additional equipment, including paints, stickers, interior upholstery, decors and trim, steering wheel styles, LED lights and additional lights, various accessory carriers, etc. The price can easily climb much higher, which also shows configurator already running.
