These spy photos are not the usual ones that we present to you, they are an exception, and from which even the new generations of buses and coaches are not spared. The protagonist in these snapshots is one of the biggest models of the star brand, the Mercedes Tourismo. A high-capacity model that is being developed in Germany, especially for the United States.
Our usual line is spy photos of cars and commercial vehicles, being very rare that we bet on larger vehicles. Trucks and coaches are rare, but these new images are an exception. And it is the first time that our photographers come across a coach of those classified as tourist testing in Germany.
In particular, it is a Mercedes model, completely new and never seen before. The Mercedes Tourismo PRO 41250 it shows off with the front and back camouflaged, although the German signature features are more than evident in the design of the front. Especially, the design of the headlights are very typical of the German firm, very much in the line of those of the Mercedes Tourismo RHD. Even one of the models used in some cities in urban transport.
The prototype of these spy photos presents special details that reveal that it is a model for the United States, such as the lowest position of the exterior rear view mirrors, anchored from the bottom when in Europe they hang up. Also, the split windshield and clearance lights positioned on the upper front or the prominent front and rear bumpers. Aesthetic details apart from the sticker, although there is one more detail that really confirms that it is an American model.
And it is the fact of having only an access and exit door in the cabin, a detail typical of models sold in the United States, and that you have surely seen in the yellow school buses. A special detail is also the arrangement of the evaporators of the air conditioner, no less than five units placed behind a grid on the left side of the coach, a system that in Europe is placed on the roof. And we are talking about a model of some 17 meters long, with 61 seats.
The new Mercedes Tourismo PRO 41250 has just been discovered just a couple of days ago, in full testing phase being estimated a world presentation throughout this year 2021. In the coming weeks, the heads of the Daimler Buses division in North America will give a press conference in which references to this new model are expected.
