According to Porsche, the car set a record time of 7: 29.81 on July 24 this year, surpassing the time of the Mercedes AMG GT 63 S by almost a second. These are the times from the longer section of the circuit. The shorter part can be compared to times 7: 25.04 versus 7: 25.41. Again in favor of Porsche.

The Jaguar could seem to protest with its extreme sedan XE Project 8, which the circuit ran in 7: 18.36. However, it is a car two car categories lower, moreover without rear seats.

Test driver Lars Kern was behind the wheel and just by comparison, the 2016 Panamera Turbo, currently the strongest version of the four-door sedan, was 13 seconds ahead.

The masked car hides a modernization of the Panamera model, which is set to premiere in the coming weeks. In the case of the record from the Nürburgring, this is probably the top variant of the Turbo, but it is also possible that Porsche will surprise with an even sharper variant as part of the modernization.

Porsche does not want to publish more information about the record model yet, however, the Motor1 server states that we will probably have something to do with the new strongest version of the panamer.

There is speculation about the Turbo S designation, which currently belongs to the Turbo S E-Hybrid model, but there is still the possibility that Porsche simply improved the Turbo version a lot. In any case, there is talk of upgrading the chassis and engine, as well as electronic stabilization. They also added new, custom-made Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 1 tires to their dexterity.

Porsche intends to introduce the novelty at the end of this month. What is certain, however, is that even before the official performance, the Porsche Panamera is king among the super-fast four-door sedans at the Nürburgring.
