On the roads in the Giant Mountains, I had the opportunity to try a hybrid version of this popular SUV.
If you drive mainly in and around the city, then the hybrid version of the Kia Sportage is the right one for you. I checked it in the rugged mountain terrain of the highest Czech mountains. After a 150-kilometer test drive, the on-board computer in the car, which was also equipped with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission, showed a consumption of 6.2 liters. This is exactly in accordance with the official data of the manufacturer.
We did not drive on the highway, where consumption would certainly be higher, but also in larger cities, where it would fall again. In addition, more environmentally friendly individuals can also be pleased by the fact that I was able to drive through smaller villages in the mountains completely without emissions, thanks to an electric motor powered by recuperated energy.
Plenty of the available power potential in this version is pleasant (the petrol sixteen and the electric motor together provide 230 horsepower) and the flawless operation of the transmission. The chassis has handled the potholes perfectly and the equipment inside will satisfy every motorist. However, during the domestic national premiere, I also learned a few other things about the car, which in my opinion are worth the attention of customers:
1) The now launched Kia Sportage is the fifth generation of this car. The first one came in 1993 and at that time it was still a car built on a ladder frame. It lasted for 11 years
2) Kia Sportage is key to this Korean brand. Every fourth Kia sold in the world is a Sportage. So far, more than five million have been sold worldwide, of which 830,000 are in Europe. The last few generations have been produced for European customers in Žilina, Slovakia.

3) Compared to the previous generation, the car has grown slightly. It measures 4515 millimeters in length, which is thirty more than in the fourth generation, and the height and width have also increased by 10 millimeters.

4) The range of power units has expanded again. In addition to the classic petrol and diesel engines, mildyhbrids, hybrid and plug-in hybrid are available.
5) The carmaker decided to offer a very wide range of body colors. There are thirteen of the one-color and nine two-color can be chosen. The car can then complete one of the six light alloy wheel designs.
6) For the first time, Kia used a curved combined digital panel that includes both an instrument panel and a central multimedia display. It has the largest diagonal of 12.3 inches in the segment of these cars.

7) Designers have come up with a number of new smart solutions. For example, in the classic holders in the center console, thanks to their connection, you can also place a tablet, on the back of the front backrests there are some small straps for hanging bags and we also find a hook for placing shopping bags.
8) The seven-year period in the case of current Kia models applies not only to the warranty, but also to the free update of the navigation maps. In addition, Kia’s online navigation system uses cloud services. Through them, it obtains real-time traffic information and traffic information history in order to predict the real traffic density on the planned route. This means that thanks to the online navigation system, much more accurate traffic information and directions are available with a more realistic display of the estimated time of arrival.
