The new generation Kia Sportage, unrecognizable. The first official images

The new generation Kia Sportage is preparing to enter the scene. Until then, however, the South Korean manufacturer presents the first official images with the car.

The new Kia Sportage will be officially unveiled in July in South Korea. The European version will soon follow. This will happen in September.

Spy photos and recent renderings looks a completely different SUV. But the prototypes found in the tests still wear a thick layer of camouflage, which does not allow the clear identification of some design elements. One thing is for sure, though. The new generation does not look like the car we see on the roads today.

The next generation follows the principles of the new Kia design language, which is called Opposites United. Images One of the dark photos presented by the Asians shows that a new grille appears on the front, flanked by LED headlights, which mimics the shape of a boomerang.

South Koreans also offer an image with the back. You can see new LED taillights, but also a tilted rear window and an extremely short rear pillar. These are indications that the new Kia Sportage is turning into a coupe SUV. Following the roof, an aileron confirms its dynamic image.

Kia also shows an image inside the model. We are dealing with a curved screen, which integrates the instrument panel and the touch display. A new steering wheel with the new company logo and new ventilation appear in the cabin. These are elements taken from the new electric model Kia EV6 and is a board reserved, most likely, for top equipment.

“With the launch of the new Kia Sportage, we didn’t just want to take a step forward, but to take it to another level in the SUV segment,” explains Karim Habib, senior vice president, head of the Design Center.

We will find out more about the new generation Kia Sportage in the coming weeks.
