The National Police Chief Sets the Age Limit for Retirement of Individual Security Officers and TNI-Polri Retirees. Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Chief of Police General (Pol) Idham Azis | has signed rules regarding the retirement age limit for members of the security unit ( security).

These provisions are contained in Article 31 of the Republic of Indonesia National Police Regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning Self-Defense Security dated August 5, 2020.

The retirement age limit for individual security guards varies according to rank.

“For individual security guards, namely 56 years for executors, 58 years for supervisors, and 70 years for managers,” as quoted from the draft confirmed by the Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono.

The National Police Chief also regulates the retirement age limit for security guards who are retired Polri or TNI personnel.

The details are 60 years for members with executive ranks, 65 years for supervisors, and 70 years for managers.

In addition, security guards can end their duties by resigning voluntarily.

Other reasons for a security guard’s duty to end as stated in Article 30 are death, violating the code of ethics, giving an untrue statement during registration, or committing a criminal act with threats of more than five years.

The rank of security guards is also one of the new things that are regulated.

The rank groups of managers are marked with a red triangle. The levels consist of main manager, middle manager and manager.

Then, the supervisor group includes the main supervisor level, intermediate supervisor, and supervisor. The rank mark of this group is a yellow triangle.

Finally, the group of executives consisting of, the main executor, the intermediate executor, and the executor. The rank mark for this group is a white triangle.

Another new rule for security guards that is contained in the regulation is related to uniforms.

There are also five types of security guard uniforms. In the previous regulation, there were only four types of security guard uniforms.

The five consist of PDH, Special Field Service Clothing (PDL Sus), Field Service One Clothes (PDL One), Daily Civil Clothing (PSH), and Complete Civil Clothing (PSL).

In addition, the security guard uniform turns brown like the uniform of a police officer.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, Brigadier General (Pol) Awi Setiyono, said that the similarity in the color of the security guard’s uniform with the police is expected to create emotional closeness to foster pride.

“Fostering the pride of the security guard as a developer of limited police functions, honoring the security guard profession, and increasing the performance of the police function in the midst of society,” said Awi at the Bareskrim Building, South Jakarta, Monday (9/14/2020).
