The MVA welcomes the actress and bailaora ‘La Chachi’ with her work ‘The grammar of mammals’

MÁLAGA, 11 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Malaga actress and bailaora María del Mar Suárez Jurado, ‘La Chachi’, takes the stage of the MVA on February 19 at 4:00 p.m. with her show ‘La grammar de los mammalos’.

The invitations can be downloaded starting this Thursday, February 12, on the mientrada.net platform. Likewise, it can be followed in live streaming through the MVA’s YouTube channel, the Diputación de Málaga has informed through a statement.

Culturama continues with its Escenik cycle, related to the performing arts, with a “hybrid” work, as defined by the author, of 60 minutes that delves into the choreographic and musical investigation of flamenco under the premises of the new dramaturgies.

Taking the gesture as a starting point, flamenco as a tool for experimentation and dance as a narrative language, ‘La Chachi’ composes a work where the text is the common thread. Viewers will meet the character who presents his experiences, which have made him become what he is, but not with dialogues but with environments.

The public will witness this character that grows because of their fears, nightmares and dreams that can be recurrent or have a common thread. But, in the end, liberating dreams will make visible the conscious part, the one that disguises itself before others to give an image with which to achieve the objectives.

In short, “an evolving show, loaded with images and penetrating choreographies and with strong contrast where flamenco plays the leading role”, they have detailed.

‘The Grammar of Mammals’ was released in February 2017 and has been awarded at the PAD 2017 awards for Best Show, Best Interpreter and Best Guerrilla Show / without subsidy. In 2018 she won the Lorca Andalusian Theater Award for Best Female Dance Performer, in addition to being nominated for Best Choreography and Best Show.

Following the measures imposed by the health authorities due to the spread of the coronavirus, the María Victoria Atencia cultural center will have a reduced capacity of places, and the use of masks will be mandatory in its facilities.
