The musical evenings of the festival Riga Jurmala / Day are over

In the cycle of nine events, which took place in July and August in Riga and Jurmala, gathering about 1,500 thousand people from Latvia and abroad, the listeners were able to enjoy hitherto unusual musical evenings. During the evenings, recordings of unspoken concerts were played, creating the feeling that the melody originated in the city, its parks, trees, bushes, which created an unprecedented musical experience. The audio concerts were complemented by light objects and the created mood, the artistic author of which is the artist Krišs Salmanis.

The events featured Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto at the Symphony op.104, Peter Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony at the Famorora op.36 and the First Concerto for Piano and Orchestra at the Sibelmolminor op.23, as well as Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra at the Razinov Op.35. Symphonic dances op.45, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Personality, etc.

“We are glad to see that the event was attended not only by hardened lovers of classical music, but also by young parents with children, other interested people and simple passers-by. The festival’s musical evenings turned out to be a great format to introduce , who are probably not active listeners of classical music on a daily basis, “says the music festival Riga Jurmala Executive Director Zane Čulkstēna.
