The music schools of Pamplona take to the streets to offer free concerts

The Joaquín Maya Municipal School of Music, the Pablo Sarasate Professional Conservatory of Music and the Superior Conservatory of Music of Navarra will offer from tomorrow afternoon and until next Friday the 18th a total of 13 free outdoor concerts. The cycle ‘Music comes out of the classroom’ aims to show the work carried out by students of higher musical education, and do it in open and safe places, to avoid the spread of the virus. In this sense, three representative places of the city have been chosen, such as the Ciudadela, Plaza de San José and Fortín de San Bartolomé.

The City Council of Pamplona and the music schools of Pamplona launch the program ‘Music goes out to the streets’, in which the public will be able to enjoy concerts of different instruments in the open air with free admission until full capacity. The concerts will take place for eight days, in the afternoon, on June 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 18.

‘Music goes out to the streets’ starts this Tuesday, starting at 6 pm in Plaza San José, with the recital of the piano and chamber music groups of the Joaquín Maya Municipal School of Music. Later, at 7:00 p.m. on the same stage, the group of txistularis from the Pablo Sarasate Professional Music Conservatory will take the baton. The string orchestra of this conservatory will put the finishing touch to the musical afternoon at 7.30 pm in the Citadel.

Three stages are located in emblematic and historical points of the city

The stage from Ciudadela He will receive again at the same time on Wednesday, Thursday and next Monday the 14th, the students of the Pablo Sarasate Professional Conservatory of Music. On Wednesday with the third and fourth grade bands accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra; Thursday with the string students and the Brass Band from third and fourth year; and on Monday with the bands of various courses. On Wednesday 26, Ciudadela will change music school to host, from eight in the afternoon, ensemble and percussion students from the Conservatorio Superior de Navarra.

What’s more, the Fort of San Bartolomé will host three more concerts by the Pablo Sarasate Professional Conservatory of Music. This Thursday there will be a concert of harp and accordions; on Sunday he will receive the chamber groups and on Friday the 18th he will join the latter with guitar ensembles and a group of bassoons. All appointments will take place at 7:30 p.m.

After the inauguration of the space in the Plaza San José of ‘Music goes out to the streets’, this week will host two concerts by the students of the Joaquín Maya Municipal School of Music. On Thursday ‘El Combo Linga & the Trombone-bones’ will arrive, and on Friday it will be the turn of the txistus group. Finally, next Wednesday the 16th this stage will host a clarinet trio and flute ensemble from the Pablo Sarasate Professional Music Conservatory. The three appointments will be at 7:30 p.m.
