The skills learned in raising children can also be used at work

According to eight out of ten Hungarians, the skills learned while raising children can also be used in the workplace. “Both mothers and managers solve and manage a variety of tasks at the same time, and often take responsibility for their decisions. We believe that the skills learned during child-rearing can also become a valuable tool in the workplace, which is why, for example, we pay special attention to mothers returning from maternity leave who, due to their life situation, require special flexibility in their work schedule, but in return, they sometimes surpass their colleagues in terms of work organization and efficiency. We are constantly striving to create an increasingly family-friendly workplace, which is also supported by the paternity leave introduced in 2021 and the grandparent leave introduced in 2023,” said Enikő Szalai, Deputy HR Director of Yettel Hungary.

Yettel organized its first Mother’s Day event last year, in the framework of which employees could invite their mothers to the office building of the mobile service provider in Törökbálint. In view of the great success, the program was held again this year: this time, the mothers were able to take on the position of company manager for a day.

They could decide, for example, whether Yettel should continue expanding its 5G network, or whether it should implement a uniform or differentiated salary increase in the future.

They were also able to express their opinion on the fate of a currently vacant business premises, as well as on a complicated subscriber legal case.

Many of them are not illegally deprived of their jobs.
