The mother of the child who died in Ter Apel at the end of August does not resign herself to conclusion of the Public Prosecutor’s Office that there is no indication of a crime. With the help of attorney Richard Korver, he wants to get his hands on the autopsy report, which the prosecutor has not allowed until now.

Korver finds it “completely insane” that the prosecutor does not want to provide the autopsy report. “The child was placed in the care of the state,” she says. The mother can see the relationship, but according to Korver that doesn’t make sense. “He does not speak Dutch and is not a doctor”.

‘Suspicious dose’
At the moment, the lawyer has no concrete indications that a crime has been committed. But the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office does not provide the complaint “leads him to a dose of suspicion”.

That’s why Korver wants the prosecutor to provide the report. “I want to evaluate it personally and introduce it to a pediatrician.” When justified, Korver will lobby for the prosecution.

The three-month-old baby died in the night between 23 and 24 August in a sports hall of the Ter Apel registration center. Before the baby died, medical care should have been provided.
