Platform YouTube is home to a huge number of video clips. The vast majority fail, but some spread virally and achieve extremely high views. Probably many people remember the first surge of 1 billion views, which was successful in the Korean music video Gangnam Style from PSY. Although it has gained several billion since then, with the current number of 4.3 billion views, it has not even made it into the Top 10 and has to settle for 11th place. But here we have the first video that crossed another round line, this time 10 billion views.
And wonder of the world, South Korea is behind the video again. It’s a music video again, but this time it’s a video for children. His name is Baby Shark Dance by Pinkfong Baby Shark – Kids’ Songs & Stories and was uploaded to YouTube in June 2016. In November 2020, it became the most successful clip on YouTube and remains so to this day. Interestingly, Despacito (Luis Fonsi) is in second place, this clip has so far garnered 7.7 billion views.
