We can safely say that all the most popular Latvian musicians will be seen on the same stage on Tuesday evening at the Dzintari stage. Taking into account that this will be the 25th anniversary concert of “Zelta Mikrofona”, the winners and nominees of this and previous years will be visible there.
Winners of the Best Pop Music Album of 2022 “Riga Fashions” meet again at the rehearsal before the evening concert in Dzintaros.
“It must be said that we have a good experience with “Zelta Mikrofon”, says Kalvis Bormanis, vocalist of the “Rīgas Modes” group. For the music team the second album “Patiesie nodomi” was released, which, like the first one, has won the “Golden Microphone”. The group even won two awards this year – in the Pop music album nomination and also as Album of the Year.
“Perhaps we are not the most famous group in Latvia, but I believe that we are quite an influential group. Our releases have brought new breezes to the Latvian pop scene, let’s say so,” says Kalvis Bormanis.
“Golden Microphone” even before the concert, the star choir sang the popular piece called “Why do I sing a foreign song?”. Many participants and winners of “Golden Microphone” sing in the Star Choir.
“Not just pop music, alternative music, academic music, folk music, instrumental, heavy metal, choral music.” Elita Mīlgrave, the long-term creator and organizer of “Zelta Mikrofona”, emphasizes that two important anniversaries coincide for her on this occasion.
“Today is a double holiday for me, not only the anniversary of “Zelta Mikrofonam”, but the anniversary of my own life. It coincided and that’s why I’m very happy to meet everyone, to say thank you to everyone for these years here,” says Elita Mīlgrave.
More than 20 of Latvia’s most popular artists will take the stage. As restrictions previously prevented a proper celebration of this year’s awards, it will take place on Tuesday evening. The live broadcast of the concert can also be watched on the “GO3” platform.
