If you are passionate about cheese, then perhaps you will be interested to know that there are such special and rare cheeses that really cost a fortune eye of the head and they are not really within everyone’s reach.

For example, have you ever heard of the Pule cheese? It is a cheese made from the milk of a donkey that lives in the Balkans, an area of ​​Eastern Europe.

These donkeys are very few and are protected in a nature reserve in Serbia. There, they feed only on clean and healthy grass, without any kind of pesticides. To make one kilo of this cheese it takes 25 liters of milk, which cost 40 euros each. This is why pule cheese is one of the most expensive in the world, because if you want to buy it, you have to shell out 1,000 euros per kilo!

Its cost is 770 euros per kilo.

Here is the most expensive cheese ever

The cheese in question is Cabrales cheese, a soft blue cheese that comes from northern Spain. It is considered the finest cheese in the world and consequently also the most expensive and was recently sold at auction for just over 32 thousand dollars, thus establishing a new Guinness World Record.

The whole wheel of this cheese weighs about three kilograms and was produced by Guillermo Pendás, a cheesemaker who matured the cheese for 10 months in a cave located at around 1400 meters above sea level. The Cabrales cheese it had already set a similar record in 2019, when a similar shape was sold at auction for 30 thousand euros, surpassing its previous record.
