Despite the fact that the coronavirus is heard less and less frequently, vaccination against COVID-19 in Spain does not stop. Health has already administered a total of 94,734,967 doses: 92.6% of the population over 12 years of age already have the complete schedule of the vaccine and 52.8% of the INE population have received a booster dose, according to The report of the comprehensive management of the COVID-19 vaccination of May 27, 2022.
So far, Spain has administered vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen. Of the total number of people with the complete guideline (39 million)more than 28 million have been vaccinated with Pfizer and just over five million have been vaccinated with Moderna.
As these two vaccines are the most administered, the Government published last Wednesday the 15th Pharmacovigilance Report on coronavirus vaccines, in which the main side effects of Pfizer (Comirnaty) and Moderna (Spikevax) are collected.
Pfizer Side Effects
According to the aforementioned report, until May 8, 65,862,638 doses of Comirnaty have been administered in Spain. Regarding the distribution by age groups, 60% were people between 18 and 65 years old25% people over 65 years old, 8% people between 12 and 17 years old and 7% children under 12 years old
To date, a total of 38,624 adverse events have been recorded after receiving the vaccine, the majority in women (74%) and in people between 18 and 65 years old (83%). The 38,624 notifications include 94,737 descriptive terms for adverse events. These are the ten that appeared most often:

As for the third doses of Pfizer, the pyrexia (22%), lymphadenopathy (20%) and headache (11%) are the main side effects.
Side Effects of Moderna
Until May 8, 2022, a total of 23,733,586 doses of Spikevax were administered in Spain, corresponding to 5,337,609 people. Regarding the distribution by age groups, 80% corresponds to people between 18 and 65 years old12% to people over 65 years of age and 8% to people between 12 and 17 years of age.
A total of 15,101 adverse effects have been recorded after receiving the Moderna vaccine, most of them are women (72%) and people between 18 and 65 years old (90%). The 15,101 notifications include 40,522 descriptive terms of adverse events. These are the ten most common:
