The world of mobile processors has a new leader. According to the agency CounterPoint In the third quarter of this year, there was a change in the leading position, which is newly occupied by MediaTek. Thanks to Dimensity chipsets, it began to peek to higher floors, and thanks to that, its mobile processors reached 31 percent of smartphones of various brands in the third quarter. In the third quarter of last year, it was only 26 percent.
HiSilicon, Samsung and Huawei have the same
The second place went to the American Qualcomm, whose Snapdragons powered 29 percent of smartphones last quarter, which is a year-on-year decrease of two percentage points. HiSilicon, Samsung and Apple came in third, each with a market share of 12 percent. It can be assumed that the share of chipsets from HiSilicon, which has a very limited business due to US sanctions, will decline in the near future, while Apple can be expected to rise, as sales of the latest iPhones have not yet spoken by the third quarter.
Share 5G chipsets were reportedly 17 percent, according to CouterPoint, and could reportedly double this quarter. Qualcomm is slightly stronger in this sector, which owns 39 percent of the market.
