- My first experience at Gorbeia was more than 40 years ago. Today I am 56. It was very positive and rewarding for me although not so much for my parents. On a sunny winter Sunday morning I would be no more than 10 years old. In the company of another friend, they had to help us finish the climb because there was ice. We did not have cranpons. - I have climbed the Gorbea twice and this was a long, long time ago. It dates from my times in the mountain group and “dantzak”, with the tortilla, the meat and the peppers (if it was time) in the backpack and some clandestine ikurriña as well.
