It is argued that the suspicion of sexual violence should be evaluated as important in Kim’s life as for his contribution to the film industry.
Dalsey Parquet, who is well known as an English subtitle translator for the movie’Parasite’, posted on his social media (SNS) on the 12th, “After the TV program dealing with allegations of sexual violence of director Kim Ki-duk was aired in 2018, I taught the film of director Kim Ki-duk in class. I stopped doing it,” he wrote. “If someone uses such terrible violence in their lives, it is wrong to honor him.”

Even in the domestic film industry, there is no official memorial service or condolence reaction at the group level.
Director Kim Ki-deok, who debuted in 1996 with the movie’Crocodile’, was invited to the world’s three major film festivals, and is also the only Korean director to receive all the main prizes at this festival. In 2012, he won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival for the movie’Pieta’.
However, it was known that he died of complications of Corona 19 in Latvia on the 11th, after stopping domestic activities and continuing overseas activities after being designated as a sexual violence perpetrator through the’Me too’ movement in 2018.
