In Brazil, the corona virus is still raging in full force. With 1.3 million infections and 57,000 deaths, Brazil is even the most affected country in the world after the United States. Nevertheless, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro has decided to allow fans into the stadiums from 10 July.

The stadiums can be filled with fans for 1 / 3rd of the total capacity, according to a new decree. Each supporter must have at least 4 square meters of space available and tickets can only be purchased online.

It concerns the matches in the state championship of Rio, the national competition only starts later. From August 1, the stadiums can be filled for 2/3, from August 16 there are no restrictions.

In the meantime, football has been played behind closed doors in Rio for two weeks, which also caused quite a stir.
