the mayor of Pantin requests a “precise timetable” for consumer care

This Tuesday, the institutional committee of the Crack Plan announced new measures to support consumers of this substance. Following these announcements, the mayor (PS) of Pantin, Bertrand Kern, asked the executive for a precise timetable for the implementation of these measures.

A meeting and a satisfaction of the various state services concerning the management of crack users. This meeting, which was attended by the prefects of police of Paris and the region, the ARS of Île-de-France and the town hall of Paris, was intended to highlight “the many actions taken by the State to deal with the situation in terms of public order, social and medico-social”is it explained in a joint press release.

The mayor (PS) of Pantin is not of this opinion. According to him, the meeting “was, as at the previous meeting four months ago, the opportunity to note the general dissatisfaction of national and local elected officials, of all political affiliations, with the current situation”.

The latter asks the State to set a “precise schedule in the short and medium terms” for “relieve local residents through reinforced actions by the police and cleanliness services, in order to prevent any physical and verbal aggression and that the surroundings stop deteriorating”.

For their part, the State services argue that the patrols have been reinforced, that a reception bus has been chartered, that “the mobilization of the ARS has made it possible to significantly improve the taking into account, on the one hand, of psychiatric needs and, on the other hand, of the follow-up of therapeutic injunctions pronounced by the courts” and above all, that the ASSORE device which allows “a sheltering solution with medico-social support” was increased to 510 places.

“All of this remains deeply unsatisfactory! The ARS needs to go faster and further in its steps to avoid, in particular, yet another travel announcement that solves nothing”, laments Mr. Kern. The mayor of Pantin indeed affirms that the prefect of Police of Paris announced on January 27 that he wanted to move crack users from the square de la Villette to another place in the 12th arrondissement but had to give up in the face of protest from elected.
