When the chariot turns, roads a lot. This saying applies to the full extent of the situation surrounding the Plovdiv International Fair in recent months.
Before the elections, many saviors appeared who, against the background of everyone who knows the real situation at the fair, sound unconvincing, populist and sometimes comical. Apparently, political auctioneers rely on the short memory of the people of Plovdiv to ride them and create the political public relations they need, some for early parliamentary elections, others for this year’s upcoming local elections.
How do you save something that is long lost? The fair was presented at George Gergov a long time ago, in 2006. Even then the scheme was “charged”, which has been going on for years and no one can touch it. Even more blatantly, some political charlatans rely on the very short memory of voters and in 2006 voted TO give the fair to George Gergovand today it is played by “rescuers”, arranging emergency sessions.
The truth about Plovdiv fair is cruel and must be told loud – in 2006 it was presented at George Gergov, and he in turn, intentionally or unintentionally, destroyed it. Any claim that the Internet has killed the exhibition industry is, to put it mildly, ridiculous: the Sofia NPP, which in terms of infrastructure cannot even step on the Plovdiv fair, flourishes and there the exhibition and spectacular events international are one after another. Look its program HERE and you will find out how much business there is for the exhibition centres.
Plovdiv fair is dead and hardly anyone can revive it. The fair is collapsing, anyone who has recently visited it on some occasion knows what state it is in. The fair cannot be saved. At least it can’t be saved locally. Only with the will of the state can something be achieved, but a lot of will is needed and our country has not had a legitimate government for almost a year, let alone someone with a vision for the salvation of the fair. The fair cannot be saved in the Plovdiv city council, it was lost there, given away by the same city councilors who today proposed to “save” it before the elections.
Not to be outdone, here’s the timeline of the destruction of the fair and beyond:
On 12.10.2006, on the proposal of the groups UDS (today SDS and DB), VMRO, DPS and Coalition for Plovdiv (today BSP), it is generally proposed that the joint enterprise “Paldin Turinvest” is founded in the International Fair Plovdiv and acquire thus 49% of its shares.

As you can see, the “prominent” political scientist, commentator, public figure, etc. on each manja merudia Alexander Konstantinov, who also criticizes the “loss” of the fair, voted FOR. You’ll also find the names of city councilors who are now saving the fair with great articles, but then voted FOR.
A few months later, on February 8, 2007, by decision of the city council, the Gergov nursery was also donated (figuratively, the nursery contributed by right to the assets of “Paldin Turinvest”). We just remind you recently, the municipality pays rent for this same nursery of BGN 60,000 per monthto use it.
