The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria Introduces John Rhys-Davies as Gimli in Riveting Opening Cinematic

In a week, we’ll return to Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. The game is a survival crafting game set in the Fourth Age, which depicts a group of dwarves returning to the occupied kingdom of Moria to wrest it from the clutches of the orcs and restore it to its former glory. The mission is led by The Lord of the Rings’ Gimli, and with such an iconic character at the forefront, developer Free Range Games has now revealed that the man who played the character in Peter Jackson’s films is returning, once again for The character has a voice.

John Rhys-Davies returns as Gimli in the game, and as for how our first taste of this depiction came to be, the title’s opening cinematic has now been shared. The video explains how the journey to retake Moria came to be, and also offers a little preview of what the game will have to offer.
