NASA Launches Ocean View Photos of Dunes on Mars!

INDOZONE.ID – On Thursday, NASA launched a stunning photo of a sea of dunes on Mars. It also shows a line of wind sculptures around Mars’s frozen north polar cap.

The portion captured in the shot represented an area of 31 km, NASA said. However, the sea of dunes actually covers an area the size of Texas. The photo is a fake color image, meaning that it represents temperature.

Blue represents a cooler climate, and yellow shadows indicate ‘dunes that are warm due to sunshine. This was revealed directly by the US space agency.

For your information, the Mars Odyssey orbiter is a robotic spacecraft that orbits Mars using thermal imaging to detect evidence of water and ice on the planet. This aircraft was launched in 2001 and made it the longest working Mars spacecraft in history.
