The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a cyber attack on Wednesday evening, during which false information may have been spread on behalf of the ministry.
According to Foreign Minister Lina Linkevich’s press secretary Rasa Jakilaitiene, a false message was posted on the Polish news portal Polanddaily.com – an article with Linkevich’s comment on the need to send peacekeeping forces to Belarus.
According to her, the Polish Foreign Minister was also falsely mentioned.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it has not issued such a statement.
“We are currently trying to find out the source of this false information,” Jakilaitiene said.
