Jurijs Zaharkivs, the leader of the attack of the Latvian football super league team “Jelgava”, has been disqualified for three games, the Disciplinary Committee of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) has decided.

It has already been reported that “Jelgava” capitulated “Ventspils” with guests 0: 5 on Sunday. The guests from Zemgale played in the minority in the second half, because Zaharkivs, the best goalkeeper of “elk”, was rejected for an unsportsmanlike violation against Gugu Palavandishvili.

LFF DK has punished Zaharkiv for an intentional blow to an opponent according to Article 19.4 of the Annex to the Rules of Disciplinary Procedure. This clause provides for the disqualification of three games and a fine of 170 euros.

Due to disqualification, Zaharkiv will not be able to participate in away games against Valmiera and Liepāja teams, as well as in the home match against Jūrmala “Spartak”. The Ukrainian attacker will be able to return to the square only after a month when “Jelgava” will visit Tukums.

Zaharkiv has scored five goals this season, which gives it the tenth place in the list of Premier League bombers.

Meanwhile, due to the accumulated warnings, the next match will have to be missed by RFS football players Tomislavs Šaričs and Tomasš Šimkovičs. RFS will measure its forces with the Metta unit on its field on Friday.

For the same reason, two Daugavpils footballers will not play against Ventspils on Sunday – Andrejs Kovaļovs and Joshua Akpuje.
