The third place Le Champ depossibles, managed by the citizens’ association of the same name, opened on October 15, 2022, in Montluçon, at 20, rue du Docteur-Roux.
Only his space called “the hole” is accessible for the moment. There, already every Friday, from 17:30, La Bon’heure is held, a moment of exchange “open to all, to dialogue, to compare our approaches, also a time of conviviality. Last Friday some had brought board games ”, Explains Michèle, of the collective.
The place includes a kitchen area where workshops “on food, how to consume in a healthy and economical way” will be organized. “One member volunteered to cook gluten-free, for example. “
The workshop program under construction
The entertainment program does not stop. “More than twenty-five contributors” have made themselves known, in the fields of wellness, sewing, computer science, composting … and you have to juggle your work.
The field of possibilities is a collective that brings together forty-five members, of which twenty-five are active members. Three years ago, in the form of an association, was created around the landmark café, a monthly event intended to share information, local and otherwise, in all sectors of “politics”.
Unable to find a place to carry out their activities, the collective decided to buy a building. Nine members of the association formed a SIC, Le Champ depossibles, to acquire the building at 20, rue du Docteur-Roux, in Montluçon, on 11 December 2021. The property will be transferred to the collective, which will reimburse the buyers with the rental income. The floor is in fact undergoing renovation, with four bedrooms, an entrance (kitchen, laundry) and a bathroom.
A construction site-school with the Paul-Constans high school
Because these are not complete. Started in March 2022, they must be completed by September 2023. Volunteers are helping out, supported by Paul-Constans High School. An agreement has been signed and the school site with the CAP section IMTB (Technical maintenance of the building) continues until the end of the 2022/2023 school year.Photo Cecile Champagnat
“The cocoon”, “the digital space” and “the shop”
After “the forum”, “the cocoon” and “the digital space” will open at the beginning of next year. The first will be reserved for wellness workshops; in the second, the collective will provide computer equipment for those who do not have it. “We can help people in their endeavors. And we have two volunteers ready to lead workshops. Then the time for the “shop” will come, open to local producers. The development of the entrance to the building is also planned, in addition to the garden, with terraces.
With a budget of 25,000 euros
Much remains to be done, while respecting “the central question of ecology and the economy of means. We all have a duty to have this aspect. We do what we have, recovering, repairing ”.
Materials still need to be purchased and the overall budget is € 25,000. It is integrated by Mutuale and the Fund for the Development of Associative Life.
