#DiaperDon, that is Donald in diapers: yesterday this hashtag regarding outgoing president Donald Trump, referring to him giving the Thanksgiving speech sitting at a tiny table, became the most shared in the United States: he was furious and wrote, shortly after , that Section 230 must be deleted immediately. Let’s translate this somewhat cryptic chronicle piece by piece, which is now in the openings of news sites around the world.

What does Diaper Don mean?

Literally, Don in a diaper. Among his detractors, the iconography that wants him as a big capricious and despotic baby is very widespread, and on the protests against him often flies a giant balloon that looks like Baby Trump. Yesterday, in his last Thanksgiving speech as president, Trump was photographed in profile: it seems, many have written, that he is wearing a diaper.

The #DiaperDon hashtag took off right away, and stayed at the top of Twitter trends in the US for many hours, aided by other images as well (but we’ll come back to that later). The president got mad: Twitter, he wrote (on Twitter), it spreads false trends that have nothing to do with what is happening in the world. And then he upped the ante with a second tweet: Section 230 must be abolished immediately!

But above all: why the coffee table?

But above all: why did Donald Trump give his Thanksgiving speech from a tiny table, about three feet high and just as wide, that attracted tons of teasing?

Answer: probably a stage table, made to be photographed only in the foreground, with the president only in half-length. Instead, in the larger photos, the president in a diaper seems to be sitting in his toy office, and the aesthetic result is certainly not authoritative. But how did the unofficial, i.e. non-close-up photos leak onto the internet? Perhaps even in Donald Trump’s closest staff, loyalty to the leader begins to crack …
