Earlier today, we announced the imminent arrival of update 1.04 of The Last of Us Part II, notably adding a Realistic mode as well as a “Permanent Death” option. This update has just become official with a new trailer. It will be available on August 13th.

Update 1.04’s Realistic Mode will allow players to add a little more difficulty to the The Last of Us Part II experience by, for example, removing the HUD, offering much fiercer enemies and scarce resources. . Of course, this new difficulty is not the only novelty of this update, since it also adds an option to activate “Permanent Death”. As its name suggests, this option allows players to walk through the entire history of the game with a single life, and in any difficulty.

The Grounded update of The Last of Us Part II also thinks of players who want to take their time and simplify their gaming experience. Indeed, the latter adds new visual effects and new modifiers to be able to craft endlessly, slow down time or kill enemies in one hit. Note that the modifiers prevent obtaining trophies.
