Winner of the North American Basketball Championship last season, the Los Angeles Lakers will finally display their 2020 champion banner in their den, the Staples Center. Information revealed by ESPN and confirmed by Jeanie Buss, the owner of the Californian franchise, the latter affirmed that the Lakers will display their banner on May 12, the day of the last game of the regular season (against the Houston Rockets). Usually, the champion’s banner is on display in the first game of the following season, but the Californians didn’t want to sport their banner without their fans. The owner adds that this date is also chosen to coincide with the returns of two stars, Lebron James and Anthony Davis.
