Los Angeles (USA), Dec 8 (EFE) .- The Los Angeles Lakers solidly beat their great rivals, the Boston Celtics, on a day in which the Brooklyn Nets reacted in time to trace their game against the Dallas Mavericks by Luka Doncic.

The Lakers took the victory (117-102) in a new installment of this legendary rivalry between the two most successful teams in the NBA (17 titles per head).

LeBron James was the Lakers ‘leading scorer (30 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists) but Russell Westbrook (24 points and 11 assists) became the Lakers’ key man with 15 points in the third quarter to break the game.

The Lakers also stood out in defense, one of the aspects to improve for the purple and gold franchise at the beginning of the season with many doubts but that little by little they are straightening out.

For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum (34 points and 8 rebounds) was too alone in attack and the Hispanics did not have their best performance: Dominican Al Horford had 7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists in 30 minutes and Spanish Juancho Hernangómez had 3 rebounds and an assist in 5 minutes.

For their part, the Nets turned the score around in their confrontation against the Mavericks and ended up scoring the victory in the final moments (99-102).

James Harden (almost triple-double with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists) and Kevin Durant (24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists) led the Brooklyn team in a highly contested duel in which Luka Doncic added 28 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for Dallas.

The Nets, who lost 17 to the Mavs, continue to lead the Eastern Conference and have won seven of their last ten games.

Finally, the New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs (109-121) with 32 points from RJ Barrett.
