The election day passed without any problems in the Kresna village of Slivnitsa, where by-elections for mayor were held today, said the chairwoman of the Municipal Election Commission / MEC / in Kresna Lyubka Kovacheva, quoted by BTA.

The mayor’s office has a new mayor and this is Kirilka Vladova Ilieva, who is the candidate of “BSP for Bulgaria”, said the chairman of the MEC-Kresna.

Partial local elections will be held in 2 municipalities and 12 mayoralties

244 out of 466 eligible voters voted in the by-elections today. 192 of them voted for Kirilka Ilieva. 52 voted for the GERB-UDF candidate Ivan Yanev, added Lyubka Kovacheva.
