The situation in the Khabarovsk Territory for the week of the work of the Acting Governor Mikhail Degtyarev “calms down”, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
“It is rather calming down,” he told reporters.
At the same time, the Kremlin representative stressed that it is premature to give any assessments of Degtyarev’s activities.
“He works actively, he gets to know the situation, he does what needs to be done first. We see him doing this very energetically. Any assessments … it is premature to give, “- said Peskov.
Earlier, Degtyarev suggested create a people’s council to consult with residents on major issues and problems.
On July 20, Russian leader Vladimir Putin appointed Degtyarev as acting head of the region. Its former leader, Sergei Furgal, was removed from his post “due to a loss of confidence.”
According to Peskov, the president was guided by the task to establish the smooth operation of regional authorities.
