The kidnapped sister of the Iraqi prime minister: “funds terrorism that does nothing”

Emma Tsurkov, the sister of Elizabet Tsurkov who was kidnapped 13 months ago in Iraq by an Iraqi terrorist militia, slammed the head of the Iraqi government, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, because he “finances the terrorism of the militias. “Be ashamed of yourself. You’re not doing anything to save her.” That’s what Zurkov said, at an event of the Atlantic Council research institute in Washington, as reported by Roy Case in Here News.

She added that al-Sudani is not doing anything to bring about the release of her sister Elizabet Zurkov, because the abductees are from Hezbollah battalions. “Your government funds them and you employ them. Let them do what they want. My sister has been held for 13 months and you don’t care. You sit here as if you are a legitimate leader.”

The Iraqi Prime Minister said at the event that “an investigative team has been established to follow all aspects of Zurkov’s kidnapping”, adding that his men are getting closer to locating the kidnapped nurse. Last week, al-Sudani met with US President Joe Biden at the White House. Before the meeting, it was reported in the US that the issue of the kidnapping of the Israeli woman was discussed between the two.

Elizabeth Tsarkov, is an Israeli-Russian citizen, held by the Shia militia as a hostage of Hezbollah. Since the kidnapping, Israel has emphasized that it considers Iraq responsible for its fate and well-being.
