National police chief, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, announced six suspects in the Kanuruhan tragedy on Thursday (6/10/2022), in Malang, East Java. Two of them are the President and Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru, Akhmad Hadian Lukita and Abdul Haris. Lukita and Haris were accused of 359 of the criminal code and 360 of the criminal code and of article 103 paragraph 1 in conjunction with article 52 of law no. 11 2022 in the field of sport.
The Kanjuruhan tragedy occurred after Arema FC were defeated 2-3 by Persebaya Surabaya in the continuation of League 1 2022/2023. There were 131 victims in the tragedy.

“Maybe they are my brothers and sisters. The point is that I apologize once again, to the victims, once again I apologize for the imperfections. I could not save my brothers. Thank you,” Abdul Haris said.
