The judge rules in favor of the City Council and exonerates it from compensating Inversiones las Teresitas | Radio Club Tenerife | Present

The magistrate of Court Number 5 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has issued a sentence exonerating the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife from the payment of any type of compensation to the businessmen of Inversiones las Teresitas for the loss of profits of the 11 plots of the Las Teresitas beach. The lawsuit was filed by the businessmen who wanted the council to pay in a subsidiary way the value of the 11 plots and their urban uses, which amounted to more than 50 million euros and at least 22 million in interest. The judge recalls in her legal reasoning the criminal sentences handed down by the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife that has led the former mayor of the Tenerife capital, Miguel Zerolo to prison and the two businessmen involved in the plot. For all these reasons, the judge declares the contract for the sale of the 11 plots on the beach null and void due to illegal acts and maintains public ownership of them. It should be remembered that each and every one of the appeals presented by Inversiones las Teresitas have been dismissed, including the one presented before the National Court for the demarcation of maritime-terrestrial public domain assets in the beach area.
