Two emails that the VRT could access prove that the Jambon cabinet was informed at an early stage of the events at Charleroi airport, in which the Slovakian man Jozef Chovanec was killed.

Strange story. Slovak ambassador is asking for an interview with the minister about this. ‘ That is an excerpt from an email from the Jambon cabinet to the police. According to the VRT, it was sent on February 26, 2018. A day later, Chovanec is pronounced dead in the Marie Curie Hospital.
Jambon, then Home Secretary, said yesterday that the police report that landed in his cabinet on Feb. 26 was “a neutral account of the facts.” He let also know that he does not remember anything about the events that were handled by his cabinet. Nobody seemed to ring a bell at his cabinet either.
Chovanec was born on February 24 locked up in a police cell at the airport after an incident at Charleroi airport. That night, the man was taken to Marie Curie Hospital, after a police appearance in which one officer performed a dance and another officer delivered the Hitler salute.
On February 26, the wife reports the events to the Slovak ambassador, she also files a complaint. The Slovak embassy sent a letter that same day to the government service Foreign Affairs, speaking of ‘a serious diplomatic incident’ and ‘a muscular intervention by the police’. Another email that the VRT was able to consult shows that the airport police informed the Jambon cabinet the same day. Here is a report of the event.
