the Ivorian Army donates blood, 5000 bags to collect

For five days, from Monday July 11, 2022 to Friday July 15, 2022, the defense and security forces as well as the paramilitary forces donate their blood. And this, on all the extent of the Ivorian territory. Through this operation, 5,000 blood bags are sought as an objective.

A solidarity action

Should it be noted that 450 ml of blood are taken from an individual. This is an action that can be done every six (6) months.

This action is part of the activities of the 4th edition of the Army Day which is scheduled to be held on July 27, 2022.

In view of the health situation, we wanted to make a blood donation that meets an urgent need.

At this ceremony to launch the collection of blood from men in arms, the Chief of Staff of the Army, General of the Army Corps Lassina Doumbia made this gesture made by his men understood.

“On the occasion of the feast of the armies, beyond the reminder of the spirit of defense which must characterize us, beyond the exaltation of the virtues which must be ours from the multitude, we take advantage of it for ourselves open up to the civilian populations for which we exist, and perform acts of solidarity towards them. In view of the health situation, we wanted to make a blood donation which meets an urgent, crucial need in most of our health structures,” declared the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.

Not to overlook any detail, this action of high social significance affects 31 cities in Côte d’Ivoire.

“It’s the message of mobilization, awareness, it’s a step that has already been taken. There are several sites. Whether it is Abidjan or inside the country that are covered today so that all members of the defense and security forces, as a whole, can make this donation,” said the Lieutenant General.

The director of the National Blood Transfusion Center (Cnts), Konaté Seidou, for his part, thanked the defense and security forces who kindly made this donation.

“I would like, on behalf of the Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage, to thank the defense and security forces, the paramilitary forces for this gesture of blood donation that they have just undertaken and which starts today. This blood donation operation will extend until July 15, 2022. It will concern the whole of Côte d’Ivoire. On this occasion, I thank the blood donors, the defense and security forces, the paramilitary forces,” he said.

Continuing, he also asked the civilian populations to imitate the men in arms in this desire to help obtain the necessary bags of blood each year.
