The International Olympic Committee stated that stopping Mortada Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zamalek, from practicing any sporting activity is an internal matter for the Egyptian Olympic Committee, which is responsible for dealing with the matter completely.
The official spokesperson of the International Olympic Committee said, in response to the “Yallakora” inquiry about Murtaza Mansour’s position after the decision to suspend him and what he is authorized to do, saying, “This is an internal matter, so we must refer directly to the Egyptian Olympic Committee in this regard.”
Yasser Idris, the official spokesman for the Egyptian Olympic Committee, explained that the decision to suspend Murtaza Mansour is subject to appeal if the President of Zamalek formally submits a request within 15 days of the decision on October 4.
He continued: “The investigating judge took his decision and addressed the committee’s board of directors with it, and we have the right to take any decision against him, and therefore we approved it.”
He explained, “Mortada Mansour has the right to object to the decision within 15 days, and submit it to the Olympic Committee, and if we reject it, then he has the right to resort to the Settlement and Arbitration Center in Egypt or the International Sports Court as he wants.”
And he added: “If Murtaza Mansour obtained a ruling to suspend the decision, it will be stopped, but the idea of suspending just because he submitted an appeal to the competent authorities, this is unfounded, and he is not permitted to resort to the regular courts.”
