the indicators are decreasing in Côte-d’Or and Dijon

While Swiss researchers are making pessimistic forecasts for the next seven days, placing the Côte-d’Or in the “red” zone, the available data show a decrease for the moment in Côte-d’Or.

The incidence rate first: it is falling in Côte-d’Or as in the Dijon metropolis. Between April 22 and 28, the latest data published by Public Health France, there are 225 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the department and 243.8 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the metropolitan area. Or figures below the alert threshold.

Another good news: the presence rate of the English variant has been declining for several days. It is now 77% presence, below the national average (81.9%), while it was above it a few days ago. The South African and Brazilian variants are very minor: their cumulative presence does not exceed 1.1%.

Caution, however, on these indicators, since the number of tests carried out is decreasing, and a possible postponement of figures could arrive by the beginning of next week because of the public holiday.

Hospitalizations have been falling since April 29

In Côte-d’Or hospitals, there are 226 patients positive for Covid-19, seven less than yesterday. Since the weekend, there has been a decrease in the number of patients: on April 28, they were 255 in the department. We see the same phenomenon in the regions: yesterday, there were 1,272 people hospitalized and today, there are 1,249 patients.

In intensive care and critical care services, however, the number of patients seems to be stagnating: 48 yesterday and as many today in Côte-d’Or, 186 on Friday and still as many on Saturday in the region. Here again, possible carryovers of figures may occur.

One death in Côte-d’Or, eight in the region

The balance sheet continues to grow, however, in the department as well as in the region. On Saturday, there is one person who died as a result of Covid-19 in Côte-d’Or. The provisional toll since March 2020, for hospitals only, is 891 deaths.

In the regions, there are eight people deceased. Saône-et-Loire is the most affected department with three deaths. The death toll is 4,548 in hospitals.
