Developer Kuba Wojciechowski has shared images of a prototype of an unreleased Xiaomi leaflet. The prototype resembles the Huawei Mate X, with the main display outside the device.
The images show that there are a total of four camera sensors and a flash LED for the camera. There’s also a button on the back to open the screen. The images showing some components of the prototype show that there is a 3470mAh battery. Volgens Wojciechowski there would also be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855-soc and an X50 modem for 5G support.
Although the Chinese smartphone maker has released a 2019 applied for a patent for the foldable device and even prototyped, there was never a commercial release. The reason why is not known. It is also unclear whether the product has been completely canceled by Xiaomi.
Earlier this year Xiaomi has announced the Mix Fold 2 foldable smartphone. The big screen is inside the device, with a smaller display on the outside. This is also the case with Samsung’s Fold device, as with the Galaxy Z Fold4, which appeared this summer.
