Telde.- The Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH) launches an appeal to the Canarian society requesting donations of blood groups O + and O-, which in recent days have registered a significant decrease in the stock levels of the Centro Canario de Transfusion.

In the Canary Islands, 300 daily blood donations are needed to attend both scheduled hospital activity and emergencies: treatment of hematological, oncological, leukemia patients, surgeries, transplants, traffic accidents, births with complications, etc. requiring transfusions of blood products.

People interested in donating blood next week can do so in Telde, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Arucas, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Valsequillo, Tías, Los Realejos, Icod de los Vinos, Güímar and San Cristóbal de La Laguna, in addition to the fixed points available throughout the Archipelago.

Where to donate blood in Gran Canaria

You can continue to donate in Telde, at the point located in a local in the Alcampo Shopping Center, next to the Administration of Lotteries and Gambling of the State La Brujita de Telde, from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the temporary donation point set up at the Rayco Neighborhood Association headquarters in Lomo Los Frailes, on Calle Cafarnaún, without number, in front of Betonia Park, remains operational for another week. Donor service hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:45 to 14:00 and from 3:45 to 21:00.

In the north, Arucas maintains active the hemodonation device that it has installed in the Retirees Club located on Avenida El Mirón, number 18, and that serves donors from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Santa Lucía de Tirajana also houses an extraction room on the second floor of the Atlántico Vecindario Shopping Center, which next week will serve donors from Monday to Thursday from 4.15pm to 8.30pm and Friday from 9.15am to 1.30pm and from 4.15pm to 8.30pm.

As of Tuesday, the municipality of Valsequillo will host a temporary donation point in the old Social Services center located in front of the Municipal Market on Isla de Gran Canaria street, in the lower area of ​​the Theater. Donor service hours will be Monday through Thursday from 4.15pm to 8.45pm and Friday from 9.15am to 1.15pm.

Regarding fixed points, the Provincial Bank of Las Palmas located at Calle Alfonso XIII, number 4, in the capital of Gran Canaria, is open from Monday to Friday from 8.15 a.m. to 2.45 p.m. and from 3.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. and has a reserved parking ford for donors.

To donate at all these points it is necessary to request an appointment.

You can also donate at the fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network on the Island without the need for an appointment. In the case of the Dr. Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria, donors are cared for from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 7.30 pm; at the Maternal-Infant University Hospital from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and at the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All these points have parking spaces reserved for donors and are closed on public holidays.
