The Hyères hospital pharmacy receives ISO 9001 certification

Hyères hospital received ISO 9001 certification from the French Standardization Agency (Afnor) on Friday for its pharmacy service for indoor use.

In addition, the Toulon La Seyne intercommunal hospital center (CHITS) has received the same certification for technical services, central sterilization and delegation to clinical research.

This voluntary certification approach complements the regulatory one of the Haute Autorité de santé (class A) awarded in 2017 to CHITS and in 2019 to Hyères hospital.

This desire to improve performance has spread a genuine culture of quality and risk management within the hospital.

“We won a sprint”

In his expert report, the AFNOR auditor noted, among the “points forts” from the Hyères hospital: “the commitment of the management and the strong involvement of the staff, the proactive policy and well-followed planning, or even a remarkable approach to crisis management”.

A certification process has already started for the hygiene service and the biomedical sector.

After thanking his collaborators, Dr Laurence Dol, head of the hospital pharmacy, noted: “We have won a sprint, now we have embarked on a long distance race in which no one has to run out of steam or stop.”

Jacques Ledoux, deputy director of the Hyères hospital, concluded: “This certification is not an end in itself, but the recognition of a virtuous professional path “.
