The existence of a hydrant at this market location is quite important. Especially to assist firefighters in extinguishing fires when a fire occurs. So with the hydrant can speed up the process of extinguishing the fire. The supply of water through a fire hydrant can make it easier and quicker to extinguish a fire.
Head of UPTD Banjarsari Market Uha Nasuha confirmed this. According to him, there are five hydrants at the Banjarsari Market location which are already in a damaged condition.
“The conditions have all been damaged and are no longer functioning at all,” said Uha, Tuesday (12/04/2022).
Uha admitted that he had directly checked the hydrants at the Banjarsari Market. In addition to UPTD, there are also PDAM officers and firefighters at the Banjarsari Damkar WMK Post.
“The condition of this market hydrant is very concerning. Some are blocked by buildings, water opening faucets that are buried in asphalt and are damaged and look worn out,” he explained.
Uha did not know for sure the condition of the hydrant was functioning. Even just knowing all the number of hydrants in this market after checking.
