The Houston Astros have eight straight wins

Denver. Abraham Toro homered as part of a second five-run cluster by the Houston Astros, who beat the Colorado Rockies 10-8 Thursday.

Houston extended its number of consecutive wins to eight, the best streak in the major leagues.

Jose Altuve had a pair of hits, including a two-run double that ignited one of the five-touchdown attacks, in the second inning. In that inning, all the Astros paraded through the plate against Venezuelan Germán Márquez.

For the second game in a row, Altuve had more than one hit, a performance that has coincided with his return to second place in the batting order after spending three games as sixth.

Ryan McMahon hit two home runs for the Rockies, who have lost seven of eight games, including all in a reciprocal road series against Houston.

Kyle Tucker, who had a home run and two triples the night before, had another three-corner hit as part of his two hits and two RBIs. The Astros threaded their ninth win over the Rockies, including all four this week.

Brooks Raley (1-0) worked 1-1 / 3 innings for the win, while Ryan Pressly allowed an RBI ground ball but booked his third save.

For the Astros, the Venezuelan Altuve 5-2 with a run scored and two RBIs. Puerto Ricans Carlos Correa 5-1 with a run scored, Martín Maldonado 4-1 with a run scored and an RBI. The Cuban Yuli Gurriel 4-1 with a run scored and a RBI.

For the Rockies, Raimel Tapia 2-1 with a run scored.
