People will encounter temperatures over 34 degrees on Friday in the western and northwestern regions of the republic. These are Prague, Karlovy Vary, Ústí nad Labem and parts of the Central Bohemian, Liberec and Pilsen regions.

In other Czech regions, as well as in the South Moravian and parts of the Vysočina, Olomouc and Zlín regions, a milder warning of high temperatures applies.

The warning of high temperatures will be relevant in the eastern half of the republic on Saturday as well. In addition to the South Moravian, Zlín, Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions, it will also apply in parts of the Vysočina, Hradec Králové and Pardubice regions.

The alert is valid from 11 am to 7 pm.

On Saturday, a warning about thunderstorms will be added, which may be accompanied by torrential rains with totals around 45 millimeters, hail and gusts of wind at speeds of around 70 kilometers per hour.

From 12 noon to 11 pm it applies to the Vysočina, Pardubice and South Moravian regions and parts of the South Bohemian and Hradec Králové regions. From 3 pm to two o’clock on Sunday, severe thunderstorms can occur in the Olomouc, Zlín and Moravian-Silesian regions.
