Anyone flying to Germany from abroad can in future be tested for the coronavirus free of charge directly at the airport upon arrival. For those returning from risk areas, the corona test is even mandatory. From Saturday, August 8th, they have to be tested for the corona virus within 72 hours of their arrival in Germany. Alternatively, you can have the test carried out in your holiday country within 48 hours before departure.

Free corona tests at airports in North Rhine-Westphalia

North Rhine-Westphalia was one of the quickest to respond to the decision on test options. Since July 25th, travelers can visit the airports Düsseldorf and have Dortmund tested on Sars-CoV-2. This has also been possible at Münster / Osnabrück Airport since July 28th.

At Cologne / Bonn Airport, the state government has included the test center operated by the City of Cologne and Johanniter Unfallhilfe.
