the health system is now a top priority


The health system is today at the top of the priority center of concerns, in a context marked by the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Minister of Health Khalid Ait Taleb on Wednesday evening.

“The health sector is living at the rate of a qualitative leap and changes which bear fruit in this situation despite the shortcomings”, estimated the minister who was the guest of the program “Likae Almaghribia” broadcast on the Al-Maghribia TV channel.

According to Mr. Ait Taleb, thanks to the measures taken, the health system benefits from special attention in the sense that it is about putting the citizen at the center of interests, stressing that it is not only about ‘a national orientation, but rather global.

In this sense, he highlighted the significant progress recorded at the level of university medicine, citing in this regard the evolution of the number of university hospitals with a view to “creating a university hospital in each region”.

The Minister also raised the question of the creation of training institutes in the paramedical professions which have experienced progress in terms of quality and quantity, while insisting in this context on the importance of matching the needs in terms of medicine. and those in terms of training, particularly in a context of unprecedented technological development.

In order to overcome the deficit observed in the field of human resources, Mr. Ait Taleb deemed it necessary to set up a program in this area in line with the regional policy in which the Kingdom is committed. In this regard, he indicated that there are programs intended to promote what is called “Groupement hospitalier territorial” (GHT) in order to give a vision to unite and manage energies and to allow citizens to enjoy his right of access to care and specialized medicine. On another note, the official underlined that the epidemiological situation is under control since the Kingdom records some of the best indicators on a world scale in terms in particular of case fatality rate (1.6%), cure rate (86% ) and a number of critical cases.

He also underlined that a new pharmaceutical policy is being developed through a draft law on the subject, noting that the pharmaceutical industry sector has the potential and capacities allowing it to meet challenges.
