The health care offer occupies and worries elected municipal officials

The director of the hospital and the co-manager of the new MSP came to meet them.

This Tuesday, March 16, the municipal council which was held at the Espace Marie-Christine-Bousquet was largely devoted to the theme of health. As an introduction to the first decision to support the request for a real emergency department at Lodève hospital, the director of the hospital center, Patrick Triaire, and the co-managing doctor of the multidisciplinary health center (MSP) created in heart of town Anne Lotthé presented their structures

. The opportunity to remind elected officials of the existing care offer in Lodève.

The City wants an emergency department at the hospital“We must deliberate to make our reception center and permanent care center sustainable and ask the regional health agency to transform it into an emergency service” , explained in the preamble the mayor Gaëlle Lévêque. An atypical system, the existence of which is called into question every year, as Patrick Triaire underlined: “It’s different from a traditional emergency service. We are nonetheless open 24/7.” With nearly 10,000 visits per year, and doctors who, since March 1, have been employed by the hospital, such as nurses and radio operators.

“The concern concerns medical imaging. The scanner may be called into question by other regional projects. However, it is essential to the device.” A concern shared by the leader of the opposition Claude Laateb. “Isn’t the clinic being built in Gignac a big cloud?” One risk among many if we also look to the north and the Larzac. “Any project on the territory can weaken the system. We are also attentive to that of a clinic at La Cavalerie. This is why solidifying our care offer is fundamental”,

replied the director. An emergency project in Lodève deemed utopian for the opponent Magali Stadler-Latour, who cannot imagine an operating theater in the hospital. A utopia shared by Patrick Triaire who recalled that in the specifications, an operating room was not mandatory. This CAPS (or future emergency service) remains an asset in the eyes of Anne Lotthé, “for the reception of new city doctors. It is important to remind general practitioners that this structure exists. It allows them not to have to keep on call on weekends.”

The request for the creation of an emergency service was finally adopted unanimously.
